More about the EsKaRail
01.
The EsKaRail is an accessory attachment kit for the EsKalometer®, used for testing to ASME A17.1-2019/CSA B44-19 paragraphs 6.1.3.4 Handrails and 6.1.6.4 Handrail Speed-Monitoring Device, as well as verifying proper handrail tensioning.
02.
Used in conjunction with the EsKalometer®, the EsKaRail Kit measures the handrail retarding force in 0.5 pound increments. Coming in a hard sided protective case weighing only 23 pounds, the kit includes a Balustrade Clamp, a Gripper Assembly with interchangeable molded pads for multiple escalator brands, and a Handheld Tachometer for independent handrail speed verification.
03.
By incorporating an ACME screw and contoured low durometer urethane rubber pads, the EsKaRail grips the handrail in a manner consistent with a person, applying the retarding force in a continuous and incremental fashion eliminating any potential jerking of the handrail.
04.
The EsKaRail balustrade clamp design allows for testing on escalators with either glass or traditional metal balustrades.
05.
Using the EsKaRail Kit helps to verify proper drive tension, reducing or eliminating the potential of over tensioning (aka Dusting) of the handrail, as well as low traction stalls.
